Hemköp Stadshagen - Trio of store openings for Hemköp

In this case study we highlight the refrigerated cabinets who contribute to the unique features and solutions of Hemköp Stadshagen. In line with modern store trends, ample space has been allocated towards refrigerated units, delivered and produced by Wica Cold / Arneg Nordic. The project also includes isothermal panels for cold rooms from Arneg Nordic's cold room division, Incold.

New trends for the 'Hemköp Concept'

Hemköp recently completed its trio of new Stockholm stores with the opening of Hemköp Stadshagen. The store, located in a brand new building with close proximity to Stadshagen subway station, has embraced the next step in Hemköp's store concept, which continually evolves based on the latest trends.

Wica Cold is proud to contribute to to the future of modern retail stores with Hemköp by using energy-efficient and locally produced refrigerated cabinets from the south of Sweden. Marcus Andersson, responsible project manager at Hemköp, praises Wica's products as well as values, and has this to say about the relationship;

Hemköp Stadshagen's retail design includes Wica Cold's LX models, creating a sense of brightness and transparency through their state-of-the-art Brilliant White LED lighting and large glass doors with increased display area, which aligns well with Hemköp's wood-inspired concept profile.

Hemköp Stadshagen is among the first stores in the Hemköp chain to transition to darker profiles, details, and end-walls. Dark or light gray profile color is a matter of preference, but the trend in recent years has shifted towards darker color choices.

A city store with a focus on fresh produce and self-produced items

With the help of Wica's adjustable Belgrado2 FlexV2 deli counter, the store can maintain a strong assortment of fresh produce such as cheese, charcuterie, ready-made meals, fish, and more. The flexible solution is something that has gained popularity recently due to its versatility and ability to adjust to demand.

Hemköp Stadshagen will focus heavily on its homemade products from the in-store kitchen, which suits the area surrounded by businesses and lunch-goers well.

Versatile refrigerated displays perfect for discount deals

A consistent theme in several Hemköp stores is the ability to work with discount products and impulse items. This is evident in Hemköp Stadshagen as well, which, despite the significant environmentally friendly energy focus on the facility and refrigerated displays, has chosen to strategically place plug-in models from Wica Cold throughout the store. Gander G4 refrigerated display can be easily moved on wheels in the store, or the open Rodi G4 impulse island that excellently showcases products, and finally, the Brioni H150, which can be placed on the end of the fruit and vegetable section to sell berries and other exotic fruits.
